April Rainy Day’s Birchbox

Good morning guys!

I know this was supposed to go out last night, but I fell asleep on the couch so that didn’t happen.  Oops.  Better late than never though right?  I hope everyone has some great plans for this Easter weekend.  Unfortunately most of mine will be spent writing two different papers on the Cold War.  Luckily Sunday I’ll take a break to go visit the In-laws.

On another Note though, just found out last night that my brother, sister-in-law, niece and nephew are coming to visit us in July!  I am so excited I can’t even begin to tell you!  Now we just have to come up with some fun Maine/New England things to do while they’re here.  Any ideas?

April Rainy Days Birchbox

Kind

Moving onto Birchbox.  This month I got my Birchbox relatively early, talk about a pleasant surprise.  And even more of a pleasant surprise, I could use EVERYTHING in the box!  For starters the Kind bar was a bonus and it was delicious!  Glad I got the flavor I did though because the rest I wouldn’t have been able to eat (had almonds or peanuts).  Totally going to be buying these when they get more in stock!  It made for a delicious breakfast.

The detangler and protectant by Beauty Protector smells like HEAVEN!  Holy cow, I could just sit there and smell it all day long.  Such a pleasant sweet scent.  Almost like vanilla and oats and honey or something like that.  Amazing.  Anyway, my sprayer didn’t work so the first time I just dumped it into my hand, but it ended up going on uneven.  I decided to clean out the sprayer with hot water and then it worked fine.  I loved this and when I run out of my It’s a 10 Miracle stuff I’ll probably buy this one.

Sumita/Supergoop!I’m slightly torn on the Sumita eyeliner.  It does do a really good job of not moving once its set, and it does set quite quickly.  I wish the color was slightly more purple though, its more of a black with purple undertones rather than a deep purple.  That being said it stayed on my waterline ALL DAY, didn’t feather out at all where I put it, and blended in nicely (although you have to work super quick because it does set very quickly).  I liked it and I’ll use it, I was just hoping for it to be slightly more purple.  I have a ton of black eyeliners, a purple would have been nice.  Some people said they had a hard time sharpening this, because it was too big for a standard sharpener, I didn’t think so but if you feel that way, go to Sephora and pick up one of their Nano sharpeners (which is slightly larger than standard) and that should work great for you.

I was pleasantly surprised by the CC Cream.  Lately all of the bb or cc creams that I’ve used have been mediocre at best.  With little to no coverage (nothing like the Asian versions) and just kind of a bummer. This Supergoop! one though, had a wonderful texture and just enough coverage (not enough for me for a work day to cover the acne hyper-pigmentation click here for that story) but enough for a weekend day where I just want a slightly more polished look.  The light to medium color seemed like it was going to be too dark at first but ended up perfect.  I’m not a huge bb or cc cream person but if I was, I would totally buy this one.

ColorClubThe nail polish was the perfect shade to go with the NeutralBlingApril Rainy Days box.  It is a very pretty pearlescent spring blue.  It went on nicely with just 2 coats, however after only 3 days it started chipping pretty badly. Plus I’ve had a lot of blue polishes lately so when it started chipping I switched to a neutral color. (by Maybelline Color Show, Neutral Statement with Guilded Rose on top).  I love Color Club polishes I’ll continue to use this one (maybe in a couple weeks when I’m not over the light blue color), I’m hoping that maybe I was just really rough on my hands that week and that’s why it chipped.
