Coffee-Aholic!

Did everyone have a good weekend?  We did, although it was another busy one!  I was trying to decide what I wanted to post about today and with nothing really coming to me I figured now would be a good time to talk about coffee.

I will admit it… My name is Lauren and I’m addicted to coffee.  And, I’m a coffee snob.  I like good coffee, not necessarily expensive coffee just not cheap crappy coffee.  When I was working the breakfast shift over at the Nonantum I started off drinking 9 cups a day in order to stay awake and functioning.  (Split sleep schedule really wreaks havoc on your body’s ability to cope and function)  I realized I had become a coffee snob when they switched to a different brand of coffee.  Going from New England’s Best to Sysco was a shock to anyone, but especially so for those of us who are coffee lovers.

Over the years I’ve tried out multiple types and I’ve found that my favorites are dark and bold roasts.  In particular Tully’s French Roast is delish!  And so is Café Du Monde’s chicory coffee!  And I’ve found that I really am not a fan of Starbucks coffee, to me they always end up tasting burnt.  (could be having them from Starbucks and them sitting too long in the carafes)  That being said, I was given the opportunity to try Starbucks Blonde Veranda Roast coffee from BzzAgent (which gives you things to try for free in exchange for your opinions and word of mouth.  If you’re interested in becoming a bzzagent click here).  And at first while I was waiting to receive it I was thinking why did I even join this campaign.  I am not a fan of Starbucks coffee and I’m really not a fan of Blonde roasts.  But hey, its free coffee to try and who knows I might like it.

The day after it arrived I dove right in.  And I have to say, I LOVED IT!!!  It was smooth with a super-rich flavor.  Best of all, it didn’t taste burnt in the least!  Over the next couple of days I found myself wishing I had brought it with me to work for a little pick me up.  And before I knew it I only had 3 kcups left!  I guess it’s time for me to go buy some more!  Anyway, in short, I learned that you really should never judge a bag of coffee by its name!  Give it a try, you just might like it.  If you’re interested in a coupon for $4 off 2 bags of coffee or 2 boxes of kcups let me know!

I hope everyone has a fun week!
